Holidays near Meran in Dorf Tirol

Mediterranean meets Alpine - this is the simplest way to describe Dorf Tirol near Meran. The village centre is located between cypresses, palm trees and vineyards. The community stretches from this Mediterranean vegetation around Zenoberg Mountain at an altitude of 600 m, high up to the mountains of the Texel Group Nature Park at 2,500 m. This highly varied landscape offers plenty of leisure time options form walking to cycling in the valley to demanding hiking tours to the summits of the Texel Mountain Group.

The entire village is characterised by important buildings from times gone by. First of all Tirol Castle, former residence of the Earls of Tyrol, and today a Museum for Culture and History. Brunnburg Castle hosts the Museum of Agriculture, which introduces visitors to the work and lifestyle of Tyrolean mountain farmers.
