Route to Dorf Tirol near Meran in South Tyrol

 
South Tyrol is the most northern province in Italy, located just south of Brenner Pass. The region has always been an important connection point between north and south.
Depending on your travel preferences, you can either take the train or enjoy the more flexible way of travelling by car. Travelling by plane or bus is also possible.


By car:

COMING FROM THE NORTH:
  • Via Munich – Rosenheim – Kufstein (A 12 Inntal motorway, toll payable) – Innsbruck (A 13 Brenner motorway, toll payable) – Brenner (A 22 Brenner motorway, toll payable) – Bozen (exit Bozen Süd) – Meran (MEBO dual carriage way) - exit Meran Süd/Sinich –Tirol/Tirolo
  • Via Munich – Garmisch – Innsbruck – Brenner (A 22 Brenner motorway, toll payable) – Bozen (exit Bozen Süd) – Meran (MEBO dual carriage way) - exit Meran Süd/Sinich –Tirol/Tirolo

COMING FROM THE WEST:

  • Via Ulm – Kempten – Füssen – Fernpass – Imst – Landeck – Reschenpass (state road 40 + 38) – Meran (exit Meran Süd/Sinich) –Tirol/Tirolo
  • Via Bregenz – Feldkirch – Arlberg (toll) – Landeck – Reschenpass (state road 40 + 38) – Meran (exit Meran Süd/Sinich) –Tirol/Tirolo
  • Via St. Moritz – Ofenpass – Münster – Taufers in Münster – Glurns – Meran (exit Meran Süd/Sinich) –Tirol/Tirolo
  • Via Zurich – Landquart – Klosters – Vereinatunnel (fee payable) – Zernez – Ofenpass – Münster – Taufers in Münster – Glurns – Meran (exit Meran Süd/ Sinich) –Tirol/Tirolo

  • Via Lienz – Innichen – Pustertal (state road 49) – A 22 Brenner motorway (toll payable) – Bozen (exit Bozen Süd) – Meran (MEBO dual carriage way) – Meran (exit Meran Süd/Sinich) –Tirol/Tirolo


By train:
From Germany, Switzerland and Austria, South Tyrol is easily reachable with German Railways, Swiss Railways, Austrian Railways in combination with trains of the South Tyrolean and Italian Railways.


By bus:
Meraner Land Express (holiday express) - Weekly bus connection from 5 March to 5 November 2016 every Saturday and Wednesday from Munich to Dorf Tirol and back in modern and comfortable luxury buses (inclusive of on-board service and care). Information and booking: www.meinfernbus.de

By airplane:
The only South Tyrolean Airport is located in the regional capital of Bozen. The closest airports outside South Tyrol are Innsbruck to the north and Verona to the south. About 200 km (or 4h by train) away you can find the airports Bergamo, Treviso and Venice, and Munich.
