Reinhold Messner & Juval Castle
Constructed in 1250 at the entry to the Schnals Valley, the majestic castle owned by extreme mountaineer Reinhold Messner, now hosts a winery, an organic farm, a traditional inn, and a museum.
The Messner Mountain Museum Juval is one of five museums of an extensive project dedicated to the relationship between humans and the mountains. Everything at Juval Castle is about the “Mountain Myth” explained through various collections of art. Part of it the Messner collection of masks from five continents, a gallery with pictures from the Holy Mountains presented on several levels, a Tibetika collection, a Tantra room and an expedition cellar. Visiting MMM Juval is only possible with a one-hour guided tour.
