Texel Group Nature Park in South Tyrol
Hiking in the Texel Group Nature Park
The Texel Group Nature Park comprises an area of approximately 33,430 ha in the west of South Tyrol, shared between the communities of Schnals, Naturns, Partschins, Algund, Tirol, Riffian, St. Martin and Moos in Passeier. Hence, this protected reserve stretches between the Etsch Valley to the South, the Schnals Valley to the West, the Passeier Valley to the East, and the Main Alpine Ridge to the North. The Texel Group Nature Park is the biggest of its kind in South Tyrol, and can be discovered when hiking along the Meran Alpine Path at an almost even level. Numerous traditional guesthouses offer food and accommodation along the 80 kilometre long hike. The European long distance path E5, which leads from French Bretagne to Verona in Italy, leads through this region too.
