The Texel Group Nature Park comprises an area of approximately 33,430 ha in the west of South Tyrol, shared between the communities of Schnals, Naturns, Partschins, Algund, Tirol, Riffian, St. Martin and Moos in Passeier. Hence, this protected reserve stretches between the Etsch Valley to the South, the Schnals Valley to the West, the Passeier Valley to the East, and the Main Alpine Ridge to the North. The Texel Group Nature Park is the biggest of its kind in South Tyrol, and can be discovered when hiking along the Meran Alpine Path at an almost even level. Numerous traditional guesthouses offer food and accommodation along the 80 kilometre long hike. The European long distance path E5, which leads from French Bretagne to Verona in Italy, leads through this region too.
Hikers in the Texel Group Nature Park experience a breath-taking variety of different plants and animals. Water and almost 3,000 metres of difference in altitude make the Texel Mountain Group nature resort a popular holiday and hiking destination, and an ideal living space for many plants and animals.

From walks to high-alpine tours, here you can choose from a huge variety of tours. In the valley basin, there are the irrigation channels, walking paths along the former irrigation routes which are ideal for all age groups. For a high-alpine hike in the Texel Group Nature Park you should plan plenty of time, depending on the route chosen and your fitness, crossing the nature resort takes about 2-3 days. The Meran Alpine Path provides a very special experience. This is one of the most popular hiking trails, which can also be done in short day stages, and leads around the entire Texel Group Nature Park.
